MEETING WITH PARENTS AND SCHOOL - 24.01.2019
Open doors evening for U14 athletes and their parents who met with the high school principal. The goal was to make the prospective students learn about the opportunities as student-atheles. The school supports the growth of children both academically and athletically, so that they can achieve their own goals and develop their full potential.
SEMINAR WITH P.E. PROFESSOR - 18.03.2019
A seminar for a group of P.E. professors from Trieste where Alta Badia Ski Team's President Stefan Thaler, DC4SKI's coordinator Federiga Bindi and TD Thomas Valentini showcased DC4KI and explained the lessons learned in supporting Dual Careers for students.
WORKSHOP - 16.04.2019
A workshop with parents, coaches, sports psychologist Rosalba Romano and learning expert Paolo Borio over the roles of parents and coaches in supporting young skiers.
ATHLETIC TESTS - 14.05.2019
U14 and U16 athletes were given a battery of athletic tests called "FISI YOUNG" to assess skills such as strength, speed, endurance and core stability. The data was processed by our athletic trainer in order to better plan fall athletic preparation. The tests are also fundamental to monitor athletes along time to identify weaknesses and prevent injuries.
STRENTH TRAINING STAGE/08-10.06.2019
Three days dedicated to learning weightlifting techniques such as weighlifting and powerlifting together with the weightlifting expert Donato Formicola for U14 and U16. At the end of the three days, the athletes performed specific alpine skiing workouts and learned new exercises to be included in the athletic program.
MULTISPORT SUMMER 2019
A summer sports project dedicated to children aged 6-11 years to help the development of all fundamental motor skills during the growth sensitive phase, while experiencing different sports activities. The program lasted six weeks during which the kids could tryout twelve different sports.
ACROBATIK STAGE IN CESENATICO/25-21.08.2019
U12, U14 and U16 athletes spent a week at the beach trying out acrobatic exercises to develop fundamental coordination skills. Balance, dexterity, agility and speed, rhythm and more have been integrated into the work program. There was no lack of playful moments dedicated to group activities such as a visit to the water fun center and the Mirabilandia amusement park.
ERASMUSDAYS IN TRENTO/ 23-24.10.2019
Our Ski Team has been invited to Trento for the Erasmusdays to present the DC4SKI project. Our President Stefan Thaler shared DC4SKI's goal of supporting dual careers for skiers. The president stressed the importance of competition as an added value for athletes and the development of the whole mountain environment.
PARTNERSHIP WITH TEAM SUMMIT - ROAD TO COLORADO
In the fall 2019, some of our U16 and FIS athletes spent a week at Copper Mountain (Colorado, USA) on an exchange Team Summit, a leading ski team in Summit County, Colorado. Our athletes had the opportunity to train at the USSA Ski Center in Copper, live with local families, visit the local school and familiarize with the local culture.

MEETING WITH THE EXPERTS - 19.12.2019
Two internationally renowned American sports experts travelled to Alta Badia in the framework of DC4SKI: John O`Sullivan, sports psychologist and author of the bestseller "Changing the game", and Richard Rokos, Alpine Ski Head Coach of the University of Colorado. They discussed with our coaches the values in sport, how to improve athlete-coach communication, the concept of long term athlete development, the organization of the American circuit, the winning mentality, and many other aspects related to the career of an athlete. The speakers also talked about their personal experiences and hot to maintain a healthy sports culture.
FINAL EVENT DC4SKI - 22.12.2019
We held the DC4SKI final public conference on the occasion of the Alpine Ski World Cup races in Alta Badia, where we presented the results achieved thanks to DC4SKI. The conference was attended by project partners, parents, athletes, coaches and sports fans. in Addition to our President Stefan Thaler, the Project coordinator Prof. Federiga Bindi and the projector of the University of Bolzano, Prof Stefania Baroncelli, we had several guest speakers.
John O`Sullivan and Richard Rokos talks about the American collegiate sports system, allowing for Dual Careers during university. The former Italian National alpine ski team members Werner Heel and Verena Stuffer brought their experience, how to recovery from injuries, the importance of family support, how to stay motivated create a motivational working atmosphere.
